MeanderingsIt is easier to write about my characters or invent a new gadget or vehicle for my books then write about myself. As a child I was a voracious reader of ghost and mystery stories, or anything on witches and pirates. Searching for books with witches in the title is how I came across The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis and my life was never the same. I would sit in my wardrobe with all my books and keep checking if the back had opened onto some magical world. Then came Agatha Christie with her brilliant murder stories and Tolkien with his exciting middle earth. I was determined to create a world of my own. After dabbling in some acting I began to write film scripts and plays, performing them locally in my home town of Nottingham. Then one day, this girl kept appearing in my head, and I could see she had something wrong with her eye. Then she told me this story and I wrote it down. Characters and their traits were inspired by my eccentric and very funny friends and the people I had met in theatre over the years. My mission at present is to finish the Darkworld Series and to write the next young adult novel as well as publish my gothic adult novels.
