The Unsinkable Herr Goering
Until You Get Caught
An ambitious and challenging book, sometimes frustrating but worth sticking with. It is amusing and disturbing, a wry sense of humour shines through, particularly in the very funny examples of childish journalism although I think they must be first drafts because I hope a teacher would do a bit of correcting before allowing them to be published in their school magazine.
Not sure about the author’s claim to be making new revelations about the notorious 1974 Birmingham Pub Bombings, the detailed account of planting one of the bombs could be based on insider information but it is hard to tell. The story of the relationship between the leader of the bombers and the wife of a midlands businessman, if true, could provide a new avenue for tracking down the real bombers. If I were a journalist I might perhaps think about investigating this.
