Adventures of a Flemish author in the Anglo- Saxon bookmarketI'm a Belgian(Flemish) writer who has published more than 30 books in The Netherlands and Belgium. In 2007 I won the Hercule Poirot Prize for best crime novel of the year with "De wraak van Baudelaire" (Baudelaire's Revenge). The novel has been translated into Russian and published in a French translation (La Vengeance de Baudelaire) in Canada and France. The English translation will be out in the US in April, published by Pegasus Books. My latest novel "Alejandro's leugen" (Alejandro's Lie) will be published in a French translation (Le Mensonge d'Alejandro) in May in Canada and France. It's difficult for a writer out of a small language community to step into the big language markets, but it's also an adventure...
